Fixed Asset Accountant

Location: 2 days per week in Croydon office, rest is work from home

Contract length: Until 31 March 2023- with view to extend

Pay rate: £450- £480 daily rate (Umbrella)

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the administration and maintenance of the General, Project and Fixed Assets ledgers, depreciation forecasts, disposal projections, current cost asset adjustments and associated reconciliations.
• Ensure fixed assets( both tangible and intangible) are correctly accounted for in line with accounting standards and government guidance.
• Recording the cost of newly-acquired fixed assets (both tangible and intangible), tracking existing fixed assets, recording depreciation, and accounting for the disposals of fixed assets.
• Ensure fixed asset reconciliations are prepared on a timely basis with any issues resolved or escalated.
• Provide timely, complete and accurate information to all finance customers e.g. Budget Holders.                                   
• Review of finance processes and accounting treatments to maintain best practice and adherence to legislation.
• Support the financial improvement project looking to improve the recording and monitoring of our capital spend and fixed assets.
• Provide financial advice and assistance to the business for all financial accounting issues relating to fixed assets and capital expenditure
• Prepare all fixed asset schedules for audit and assist the auditors with any queries.

Required Skills/Experience

• Fixed Asset experience
• Experience on capitalizing Finance Asset
• Know how to work with The International Financial Reporting Standards
• How to use Oracle, Oracle fusion preferable and Excel is a MUST

The standard hours of work are 37 hours per week.

If successful will have to do a DBS.
