Senior Asbestos Surveyor, Analyst

Our client is a leading asbestos consultancy offering testing and inspection services. The company is UKAS accredited as both a Testing Body and an Inspection Body and has over 15 years of experience in industry, particularly power stations.

They are hiring for a Senior Asbestos Surveyor & Analyst to join the team to carry out:

Management & Refurbishment/Demolition Asbestos Surveys;

Measurement of Airborne Fibre Concentrations including 4 Stage Clearances;

Training of new starters and existing staff progressing with their careers;

Auditing of Surveyors & Analysts; and

Some project management, technical report writing and delivery.

This role would suit an experienced individual who is looking to go into Consultancy and Management within the Asbestos Sector.

Candidate

Full UK Driving Licence essential (preferably clean).

Qualifications:

BOHS S301 Asbestos and Other Fibres plus oral showing Competency; or

BOHS P402 Surveying & Sampling Strategies for Asbestos in Buildings, BOHS P403 Air Sampling & Fibre Counting (PCM) & BOHS P404 Clearance Testing & Requirements of a Certificate of Reoccupation

A degree in a science subject such as Environmental Science or Chemistry is desirable but not essential.

Experience:

Essential

Asbestos surveying in accordance with HSE document HSG 264 (Management and Refurbishment/Development Surveys);

Measurement of Airborne Fibre Concentration experience of Asbestos and Other Fibres in accordance with HSE document HSG248 (static monitoring, personal exposure monitoring & 4 Stage Clearance).

Desirable

Project management;

Technical report writing and delivery.

There will be a requirement for some weekend and very infrequent night work dependant on client’s needs.
